Quonset Hut Shelters
There are a number of ways to protect your animals from the elements. We have tried, due to lack of time or materials, just about everything. And while that 2x4 hutch is still standing, it's such a bear to move that I would caution away from using it in a flexible farm environment. If you move your animals, and you probably should, you don't want something that needs 3+ people or a vehicle to move.
For our small farm, we've just discovered the beauty of PVC quonset huts. The principle is simple, bend 10 foot or longer PVC pipes between a rectangle frame and then cover it in an appropriate material (tarp for warm, wet weather, something a little sturdier for over-wintering animals in a pasture.
