Pig (Sus)
At Timberwyck Farm, we are proud to call ourselves pig breeders. While we are slightly inexperienced in some aspects, we are dedicated, respect our animals, and believe that in order for the world’s heritage animal breeds to survive, people have to be willing to step up to the plate and help these animals prosper.
To that end, we purchased a breeding pair of the critically endangered Red Wattle hog breed in 2010. While the decision meant some up front costs, the value of the two hogs, plus a hybrid Large Black sow, have already exceeded their costs and will help us make Timberwyck Farm a profitable enterprise in the near future.
